I know I'm late. This is the English course number 8 - which includes a lot of talking, because this is an oral course. It began about 5 weeks ago, and here I am starting to write the diary. Few years ago I wrote to my own diary every day. I mean every single day, and sometimes I even printed pictures of my life and attached them to my diary. I haven't written diary in two years and I regret that.
I'll publish these diary texts at the same time, even though I have written them separately.
So, about this course... On the first lesson I was a bit excited and I didn't know what to expect. But after the most of the lessons I think this course has improved my English skills. I mean like I have used English more often and also learnt new words and for example how to be polite. On the other hand, I have also noticed how much more I still have to learn...... I think I should have invested more of my efforts to English especially on the first senior high year. Regards from an afterwise person who has her English final exam in 4 weeks.
This day started very well. I woke up cheery and went to two driving lessons. During the lessons we drove all around Jyväskylä, and we also went to a carwash and refueled the car. Then it was time to show my skills in the driving exam. I was a little nervous but I knew I had done my best in every driving lesson but also in theory lessons, so I was ready for the exam. And yes, I passed and got my driving license! I was sooooo happy. Then it was time to concentrate only on the school. After getting the driving license I went to these English lessons. We "played" desert game and it was okay. At least I learnt a bunch of new words! The rest of the day I was just driving around and listening good music.
VastaaPoistaThere's roughly two weeks to the final exams of English, and even less to the listening part of the exam. I have never been good at English, so I'm nervous. During the summer I have watched my favourite series without subtitles and studied little bit grammar and words. But I think it's quite hard to study English? It's very different kind of thing to prepare yourself to an English exam than to a Mathematics exam. Anyway, during the lessons of this course we have done many different kind of oral exercises and talked, for example, about pronounciation and stress. In my opinion, that's very important and useful topic for finnish people. Especially when we have the oral exam at the end of this course. I'm partner with Camilla in that exam, and I think the test will be fun to do with her :D Hopefully we will pass the test!
VastaaPoistaThe listening part of the English matriculation exam was today. I was relaxing in yoga last evening, I went to sleep early and I slept quite well, even better than I expected. In the morning I ate well and it was time to go to the listening class (I had thought that I would go to the waiting class first, but I was lucky and I didn't have to wait). I think the test started well but I made a big mistake at the end of the test. So I think the listening part went very very bad.. I just hope I'll get same results that I have gotten during this fall.. Anyway, now it's time to concentrate on the written part of the exam which is the next Wednesday.
VastaaPoistaGood morning and welcome exam week... Camilla and I just had our oral exam. And how did it go? I have no idea! I think I could have spoken better but I was so damn nervous (I normally don't stress that much) that I forgot some basic words.. But, the test was okay. I think the second part of it was the hardest because you had to make a summary of a text, which was quite hard, I think. Anyways, I think the test was fun :D Now it's time to go home and study some english, because the written part of the matriculation exam is on the day after tomorrow...!!!
VastaaPoistaI don't know what to say. I just came home from the written part of the matriculation examination, and I feel like my brains are numb. This was my first matriculation exam experience and I feel sooo tired. I did that test for like 5 hours and I coudn't eat much during the test because I felt ill. Well, still I tried to do my best. Hopefully it's enough to pass the test.. To be positive, now there's one less thing to do and stress about.
VastaaPoistaSome of my friends are going to bars in the evening, but I think I'm going to stay at home this time. I think I'm going to check the right answers tomorrow, because now I just need to relax. Hope for the best and fear the worst.. Oh and something about this course - now it's over. I have done all the things I had to do to pass the course (even though I'm turning in these texts very late but it's better late than never) and now I can relax! Oh wait..I have another matriculation exam next friday. So goodbye to my spare time and welcome back cruel student life. To you, who have done all your big exams of this autumn, enjoy your life :)
